A little bit about us……….

 

Debra

This is Debra Fidler, she is the Retail Officer. She has worked for the University for 13 years, starting out her career in Event Durham and then joining the Retail team when it was established in April 2009. She studied Law at Northumbria University but loves nothing more than making money! She has two beautiful little girls and loves nothing more than spending time with them.

Ann

Ann is the Retail Admin Assistant and joined the team in October 2018. She studied English at University of Cumbria and has worked in the heritage sector for over 10 years, but has a particular love of spreadsheets! In her spare time, you’ll find Ann making crafts and geeking out over Harry Potter!

 

George

George only joined the team on 2nd January 2019 as the Retail Assistant, she’s really enjoying it so far! She graduated last year from Durham University and studied Theology and Religion.  Before joining the team, she was a tutor and administrator. You’ll either find her head in a book, watching romcoms or playing the clarinet.

 

 

The newbie in Retail..............

Hi I’m Georgina, but most people call me George, so either one is fine by me! (I was quite the tomboy as a child hence the nickname and it’s just stuck!) I am the new University Retail Assistant, accompanying Debra and Ann in the Retail team.

I graduated from this brilliant university in June last year (2018), with a 2:1 BA Honours in Theology and Religion. I absolutely adored my three years here; the only problem was it flew over so quickly! I did not only leave university with a great degree and deepened interest and knowledge of my chosen field, but with more self-confidence and independency which I am sure will help me in this role.

My past work experience includes, receptionist and office junior for a solicitor’s office, till operator for a building society and a shop assistant in a newsagents. Since leaving university I have continued being a Maths and English tutor within my family’s business, which I have done for many years, but have also taken over as administrator.  As well as ... read more
