First written in 1972, but not published until now, The Pleasures and Pains of Collecting by Malcolm John MacDonald, tells the story of his most passionate hobby - collecting.

During his lifetime, Maclcolm amassed an amazing collection of items. These ranged from European furniture to the 600 pieces, and more, of Chinese ceramic art now on display in the Oriental Museum of Durham University.

This book will intigue and fascinate you with its 32 coloured images, its foreword by Malcolm's niece, Victoria Bagshaw, as well as an introductory essay by Curator Rachel Barclay and Head of Museums Craig Barclay.
