The first in an album of 8 ink drawings signed by late Ming-early Qing dynasty Chinese master painter Gong Xian (1618-1689AD). Landscape painting and calligraphy were the ultimate expressions of art in traditional China. The subject matter of the album showing the four seasons and their transitions was a popular topic reflecting the change and impermanence that exist in human life as much as in nature. This painting was selected from the Designated Collections of Durham University's Oriental Museum. Sold in packs of five.
